Barrow (455m) – Braithwaite
You cannot stay in Braithwaite without hiking up the beautiful Barrow. You’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the whole valley & Braithwaite village. Once you’re up there it’s not hard to see why it’s the local’s favourite walk.

Grisedale Pike (791m) & Hopegill Head (770m) - Braithwaite
Distance: 8 miles
Time: 4 – 4.5 hours
Difficulty: Hard

Starting point: The small car park at the bottom of Whinlatter pass, opposite Hope Memorial Park
Top Tip: As the car park is small, we would recommend just walking from the hotel. And don’t be fooled by the multiple false summits!
Derwent Water Lake Walk (Keswick)
Distance: 9.5 miles
Time: 3.5 - 4 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Starting point: Nichol End Marina, Portinscale
Top Tip: Stop at The Mary Mount Hotel halfway around thelake for lunch & a drink. Take some cash, if you get tired you can always get the Launch or the bus back!
Ullock Pike (691m), Longside (734m), Carl Side (746m) - Bassenthwaite
Distance: 6.2 milesTime: 3 - 4 hours
Difficulty: Hard – very steep climb!

Starting point: Ravenstone Manor, Bassenthwaite
Top Tip: Ravenstone Manor has a lovely garden area for a drink afterwards.
Catbells(451m) - Portinscale
Distance: 3.7 miles
Time: 2 -2. 5 hours
Difficulty: Moderate

Starting point: Either start at The Swinside or there is parking at the bottom of Catbells.
Top Tip: Popular walking route so need to get there early to get a car park space. Take your camera the views are amazing.
